Overview

About this park

In September 2025, Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) was found at Hazeldale Park. This highly destructive insect targets and kills ash trees, typically within 3 to 7 years.

Learn more and see how you can help by visiting our EAB Resources page .

THPRD owns and operates the remaining areas of Hazeldale Park.

In 2014, a series of sculptures by artist Stacy Levy was installed to illustrate how birds affect the vegetation growing around where they perch.

The installation is part of Nature Revealed: Discovering Nature Through Art, a project funded by the 2008 Bond Measure.

Things to do

A paved loop trail encircles the park and can be easily accessed from nearby neighborhoods. Permanent restrooms were added to the park in the summer of 2024.

Pet policy

Dogs & pets

Hazeldale Park's off-leash dog park is a popular destination.

The dog area is a fenced, two-acre grass and dirt area at the south end of the park with benches, disposal bags, and a water fountain.

This dog park area is made possible through the generosity of the property's owner, the Presbytery of the Cascades Church, and THPRD operates this area.

Background

History & notes

During the recent community visioning process, people emphasized the importance of adding permanent accessible restrooms to parks.

This project is helping the district fulfill that goal and directly responding to community feedback.

To learn more about this project, visit this page to watch a recording of a Virtual Community Meeting on this project from August 4.

Thanks to the Oregon State Legislature for funding and supporting this project to improve our level of service for the community.
