Thompson Park is named for Erling "Tommy" and Katherine Thompson, owners of Tommy's Bike and Hobby Shop from 1960 to 1986.
Katherine Thompson and family sold the property to the city in 2002. This 2.

5-acre neighborhood park has a picnic shelter, a playground with swings for ages 2 to 12, a basketball court, horseshoe pits, a 0. 30-mile hard path, and open lawn.
Parking is very limited. A single-occupancy restroom is available. Dogs must stay leashed and are not allowed in the playground. The park opened in 2003.
